Health-care companies ticked down as investors sought out high-risk stocks in a "risk-on," speculative phase for the stock market.
Shares of Novo Nordisk rose by more than 2% and are up almost 20% for the year to date as investors chase gains in the Danish drug giant. Eli Lilly shares ticked up and have risen roughly 30% for the year to date. The company has said its struggling to keep up with manufacturing output because of the frantic demand for its Mounjaro weight-control drug.
Shares of CEL-SCI slid after the cancer-drug developer priced a follow-on offering of 3.9 million shares well below its Thursday closing price.
